Fully Reproducible Custom NixOS System
A custom-riced NixOS setup I built myself. Every tool in it was picked on purpose, and the whole machine is described in configuration so it can be rebuilt from scratch.
Why reproducible
NixOS describes the whole system in configuration: packages, services, users, and the desktop. Rebuilding from that configuration gives the same system, and a bad change can be rolled back to the previous generation. That is the same property my reproducible-builds research cares about, applied to the machine I work on.
The “rice” is part of the configuration, not something layered on afterwards. Window manager, terminal emulator, shell and command-line tools are chosen deliberately and declared in code, so the look and the workflow come back with the system.
